The Oxford Hotel caters for all demographics and social need with 4 levels of entertainment venues right in the heart of Oxford St. The Oxford Hotel stands proudly at the epicenter of the entertainment district and is the oldest and most established iconic hotel in Sydney. The Oxford is equipped with a live performance/cabaret venue, gorgeous cocktail lounge, public bar with huge deck and a nightclub in the basement. The Oxford Hotel has a 24hr trading license. The Polo Lounge: Our award winning lounge has featured in many films and photo shoots. The Polo Lounge has a separate entrance and definitely has the “wow factor.” Polished oak parquet floors, double working fireplace, chesterfield couches and carved marble windows; this room resonate sophistication and is fully equipped for corporate launches, engagement parties and functions with private balcony with exciting views, mounted projector for slideshows or films and a CDJ table (capacity 180)
The Supper Club: Situated on the 1st floor with a separate entrance. It boasts a Phantom of the Opera hydraulic DJ booth, professional lighting rigs, state of the art sound deck, mezzanine level seating, computerised mounted projector and screen. The Supper Club is perfect for a lively party, professional presentation/launch, a live cabaret performance or record launch. Green Room available) (capacity 180)
The Main Bar: The social public bar with a large heated deck that overlooks Taylor Square and the courts, video juke box, DJ set up and 2 smoking balconies. Open from 10am till early in the morning 7 days a week and serving affordable meals till 9pm. (capacity 200)
The Underground: A basement nightclub with, computerised LED walls, smart lights, coat check, projector & plasma screens, lasers, smoke machine and a wicked sound system. The Underground is also available for promoted events and private parties. (capacity 180)
Room Hire: A flat room hire fee of $1000 will apply for exclusive use of the venues, although you are refunded $500 if bar minimum has been met. We ask that a gratuity of 5% be added to the bar total if there is a tab for the evening. You are welcome to dress a room but decorations need to be approved and no permanent marks left on walls, floors or ceilings.
Entertainment: There are 3 background music channels we can use, one is lounge / jazz music and the other more “funky house” and the 3rd dance music. If you would like to hire a DJ, please advise what equipment they will require (CDJ’s or Turntables). Alternatively if you have an iPod loaded up and a mini-jack RCA, we can plug that into our sound system. We have a Sound & Lighting technician if you require professional staging for performances.
